Circuit Training Focus

Circuit Training Focus is a specially designed low-intensity strength and balance training programme that is suited for seniors who are frail, clients in early stages of neurological conditions such as Parkinson's disease, stroke survivors, or those who are newly discharged from physiotherapy and need a long-term maintenance programme.

Our experienced trainers will adapt the weight and intensity of each exercise to your ability. We will work closely with you to make gradual improvements in strength, mobility and flexibility. Functional tests will be done before and after each package to track your progress.

Circuit Training Focus uses gym machines with pneumatic (air pressure) technology that allows for weight increments of as little as 100g, to cater to frail seniors. The machines also allow for unilateral training to address muscle imbalances, and are equipped with a range of motion limiters for seniors with mobility issues.


  • Circuit Training Focus is suitable for you if you:

    • are frail and prefer a slower pace, smaller-class size of up to 3 participants, and a more personalised strengthening programme
    • have been discharged from physiotherapy, and want to maintain or improve your strength and fitness level
    • are in the early stages of neurological conditions such as Parkinson’s, or recovering from a stroke, but are able to walk with a stable gait
    • prefer the ease of using gym machines (as compared to other fitness equipment such as dumbbells)

    Circuit Training Focus will not be suitable if you:

    • are unable to move from machine to machine independently
    • have high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or diabetes, and are not on medication or treatment to control them
    • have any medical condition that may put you at risk when exercising

    • prefer a non-machine-based exercise, in which you may consider our Functional Strength Training

    for 12 sessions (45 mins per session)

Place is very clean, gym is private and facing a garden. Trainer is very knowledgeable and caring, will teach how to use the machines properly so we don't sprain ourselves. Good that there is a trainer there at every session to help, can't wait to see progress!

  • Our centres are equipped with gym equipment designed with the elderly in mind. Our HUR and FREI equipment use air and water pressure technology, and are gentle and safe on the muscles and joints. These machines are suitable for elderly who have not been exercising regularly, have poor balance or weak limbs.

    The machines have built in smart technology that remembers the user’s preferences and will adjust the weights accordingly, with the use of a smart card. The machines can also be adjusted with the tap of a button, and the weights increase in 100g increments, making it very safe for the elderly

  • Sarcopenia, or age-related loss of skeletal muscle mass and strength, can lead to physical disability and loss of independence.

    Studies have shown that we lose about 3%-8% muscle mass per decade after the age of 30 and the rate of loss increases after the age of 60. As muscle loss progresses, we may begin to reduce our physical activities, resulting in further loss of muscle strength and endurance and hence increase the risks of fall and fractures.

    Therefore, resistance or weight-bearing exercises are important for us to strengthen our muscles and bones to prevent osteoporosis and sarcopenia, so that we can continue to be independent and active as we age.

  • They are welcome to wait for you at our seating areas while you attend our classes.

    For our Circuit Training Focus programme, a limit of two persons per client may be present to assist you in moving from one machine to another should you require assistance.

  • You are suitable for our programmes if you:

    • Are fully vaccinated
    • Can move from one machine to another independently
    • Have high blood pressure, high cholesterol or diabetes, and are on medication or treatment to control them
    • Do not have any medical condition that may put you at risk when exercising
